Police today made a second arrest in the Christchurch gothic-style grave-digging case.
A man in his 20s is expected to appear in Christchurch District Court on Friday charged with interfering with human remains.
An 18-year-old arrested at the weekend faces similar charges.
Detective Paul Johannsen said police may make two further arrests.
"We would
like to speak to two more people who may possibly have had an involvement. They are not being evasive but we do not know the full details at the moment."
The young people involved are members of a gothic-style group of heavy metal music fans.
A Christchurch grave was dug up and a woman's skull removed last week.
Another grave at Bromley's Ruru Lawn Cemetery was also tampered with last week.
Police said the cases were unrelated and they were not looking for anyone else in either case.
The husband of the woman whose grave was disturbed and robbed said he felt sorry for the offenders.
The remains were found at one of the houses searched by police and a man arrested.
A skull of a woman is expected to be returned and buried with the casket later this week.
