Second accused to appear in court tomorrow

A second person charged with assault following the death of a man during a fight in south Auckland will appear in court tomorrow.

The 24-year-old man will appear in Manukau Youth Court, two days after the death of a 21-year-old man during an incident on Gifford Rd, Papatoetoe.

Earlier today, a 16-year-old male who is jointly charged with the 24-year-old appeared in Manukau Youth Court.

He was remanded in custody to reappear next week.

All details of the accused and the deceased were suppressed.

Police found the 21-year-old dead at the scene about 1.30am yesterday.
