Search resumes for missing boatie

Rescuers will this morning resume the search for a man missing his boat overturned last night on Lake Alexandrina, near Lake Tekapo in South Canterbury.

Three people were aboard when it overturned about 6.45pm, Inspector Lindsay Turner said.

Two made it to shore but the third, a man, remained missing.

A police spokesman said the search would resume at first light this morning.

Rescuers yesterday combed the area using helicopters and boats, but found no sign of the man.
