Search teams have been deployed into Eastern Fiordland as the search continues for a missing German tourist.
The 25-year-old woman, known to police only as Tina, caught a water taxi at 11am on Thursday to the western banks of the Waiau River to walk the Hope Arm hut.
However, shefailed to meet her arranged water taxi at 6.30pm and police were notified two hours later.

Police and Land Search and Rescue volunteers from Te Anau, Invercargill, Gore and Dunedin and two Dunedin-based search dogs have today been deployed into the Hope Arm area near Lake Manapouri.
The search has so far revealed no clues and the search teams would be redeployed back into the area tomorrow.
Ongoing police enquiries attempting to ascertain the identity of Tina continue.
The possibility she has already left the area by other means could not be discounted and enquiries were being made at accommodation sites in the area, police said.
Tina was described as having long auburn hair and a medium build.She was last seen wearing dark clothing and a small daypack. Police did not yet know how she arrived in the Te Anau area or whether she was travelling alone.
