Search continues for fugitives Rollie Heke and Irene Scanlon

Calls are flooding in to police about New Zealand's most wanted man - but they still have no idea where he is hiding.

Rollie James Heke, 36, has been on the run from police since last weekend, when he was allegedly involved in a shooting incident in Morrinsville.

Police revealed earlier this week that his ex-girlfriend Irene Scanlon was also wanted.

Last night police raided a house in Mt Albert, and the Herald is aware of other addresses that have been visited in the search for the alleged gunman.

This morning there was no news as to Heke's whereabouts.

"Police continue to search for Rollie Heke and Irene Scanlon," said a police spokeswoman.

"Police has received reports from members of the public and is reviewing the information."

The Herald has reached out to Scanlon but she is yet to respond.

Her social media posts reveal that the pair were in a relationship while Heke was in prison.

A screenshot of messages sent between the couple was posted on Scanlon's Facebook page.

"I love u baby," Heke wrote to Scanlon.

"There no one worthy or worth anythin mor than u.

"I aint goin no where irene. im yours til the end of time."

Scanlon is known to police and the mother and grandmother is also facing active charges.

A warrant to arrest has been issued for the 43-year-old for breaching her community detention conditions.

Police would not be drawn on exactly where and how they were searching for Heke, citing operational reasons.

They warned the public and media to be "mindful" when directly contacting Heke's associates.

And police urge the public to call 111 if they encounter the wanted man, rather than approaching him.

"As we have previously stated, Heke is dangerous and unpredictable and we are mindful of the risk to any individuals having direct contact with him or his associates," they said earlier this week.

Both Heke's mother and father have appealed for him to give himself up.

"No one has been hurt, it's not that bad yet," his father told the Herald.

"You have time to do the right thing.

His mother also pleaded for him to stop running.

"Please do the right thing ... turn yourself in, son," she told One News.

"I will be there for you.

"The family loves you, they care about you and they want you to know - Rollie, we're all here for you."
