Seal spotted lounging around in Auckland

A seal has been spotted lounging near the New Zealand Maritime Museum on Auckland's Viaduct.

"The baby seal arrived sometime earlier this morning, and has been sunning itself on our pontoon ever since," said Neil Hassall, museum marketing and communications executive.

"Even our loud cannon, which we fire at noon daily didn't rouse the seal."

A handful of seals have been spotted around Auckland over the past few weeks.
