Firefighters are battling a big scrub fire this afternoon.
The blaze broke out in the Scroggs Hill near Mosgiel, Otago and was covering about 400sqm.
A Fire Southern Communications shift inspector said the fire was not a danger to the public.
It was understood the person or people who started
the fire did not have a permit to do so.
Two fire appliances and a water tanker were at the scene at about 5.25pm.
