Carterton School is to host the annual Wairarapa REAP Primary Schools Kapa Haka Festival this year.
There will be 19 central and southern Wairarapa primary schools represented at the festival, which is to be held at the Carterton Events Centre on Thursday, festival spokeswoman Trudy Spiers said.
A powhiri willlaunch the six-hour festival at 9am and school groups will be staging a range of Maori cultural performances.
The festival is open to the public but admission will be barred to the auditorium during performances, she said, although spectators would be allowed to arrive and leave between individual school performances.
