Saab has launched a special roadster it believes will introduce a new generation of owners to the Saab brand.
The new Saab Roadster takes the minimalist design approach, eschewing modern creature comforts such as power windows and climate control.
It accommodates a driver only and the beautifully sculpted lightweight body is
finished in black to contrast with the red seat.
Yep, the trainspotters among you guessed it, the special model is a toy pedal car.
The single-seater Saab's silhouette is the work of designer Ulf Hanes, who drew inspiration from the very first Saab - the 92001 prototype of 1947, designed by Sixten Sason. In keeping with the Swedish carmaker's commitment to the environment, the Saab Roadster requires no petrol and emits zero emissions.
Power is generated by the driver and top speed is limited only by the driver's skill and finesse.
Energy-deflecting bumpers eliminate concerns over parking in tight spaces, and the Saab Roadster's super sports tyres make it ideal for all surfaces.
Saab's latest model is 900mm long with a seat height of 300 mm.
It is ideally suited to drivers between 1 and 4 years of age and is available from Saab dealers at about $350.
