Cracking the code
Scantily clad models demonstrate the rules of rugby in a controversial new ad. The racy ad, by deodorant brand Lynx, features women dressed in revealing Wallabies and All Blacks uniforms, playing in slow motion while a soundtrack explains the rules. It is playing on foreign media websites.
Air show for game
The Royal New Zealand Air Force's Red Checkers team will perform an aerobatic display for crowds before the New Zealand-Canada game today. About one hour before the game starts, the Red Checkers will descend over Wellington Harbour, weather permitting, in a display designed to thrill spectators.
French Rugby Federation members enjoyed a four-course lunch at Te Whau Vineyard on Waiheke Island last Sunday after the defeat by the All Blacks. Owner Tony Forsyth said the 18 enjoyed many bottles of rose and chardonnay.
Longing for home
The main rugby nations drew straws for Auckland hotels during the playoffs and the All Blacks were reportedly disappointed not to be staying at the Heritage, their base for 10 years. One staff member said: "They were devastated not to be staying here."
