Rubbish costs more for Far North

Whangarei District will continue accepting the Far North District's refuse for up to a year, but will charge more for it.

The Whangarei District Council has voted to increase the landfill cost from $50 to $55 a tonne.

A year ago Whangarei District started accepting up to 12,000 tonnes of Far North rubbish for a 12-month period before a review.
