Ruatangata West crash victim named as 38-year-old Rondy Pedrido Sepaya

Police have named the person killed in a crash near Whangārei on Saturday evening.

He was Rondy Pedrido Sepaya, 38, from Ruatangata West.

Emergency services were called to a single-vehicle crash on Knight Rd in Ruatangata West about 10.50pm.

Sepaya had been ejected from the vehicle, police said.

“Police extend condolences to Rondy’s loved ones during this difficult time,” a spokesperson said.

Three others were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The road was closed while the Serious Crash Unit undertook a scene examination.

Inquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing.
