Almost all the diesel that spilled into a Rotorua stream from a stormwater drain was stopped from entering Lake Rotorua.
Environment Bay of Plenty environment compliance officer John Morris said the spill was contained at a pedestrian bridge in Ngongotaha, using absorbent powder which was guided into a holding pen.
