Rotorua burglaries: Police seek owners of stolen tools and camping gear

Police want to reunite stolen tools, camping equipment and a gazebo with their owners following arrests in Rotorua.

A 34-year-old man has been charged relating to burglaries in Mangakakahi, Western Heights and Ngongotahā, a police statement said.

Two other people were charged with receiving stolen property.

Police said a large number of stolen items had been recovered.

“If you have been the victim of a burglary in Rotorua, likely from a garden shed or garage in the above areas in the past few weeks, and you haven’t reported it to us yet – please do so, as we may have your stolen goods."

Police declined to provide more details of the items recovered, a spokesman saying people would know if their missing items matched the broad descriptions.
