Save The risk of rock falls above the Homer Tunnel has forced the closure of the Milford Road.
State Highway 94 will be closed to traffic until further notice as rocks are suspended in a snow pack above the tunnel portal.
As the snow melts they are expected to drop vertically
onto the road, said a New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) spokesman.
An update will be provided tomorrow by NZTA.
