An American cyclist was given a consoling hug by her 5-year-old son after she collapsed on the ground with a bloody nose following a massive effort to win her third gold medal.
Kristin Armstrong was treated by medical staff in Rio after she won the individual time trial, and she
was then greeted with a hug from her son Lucas, who voiced his concern about his mother's exhausted state.
"Mama, why are you crying? You won!" he said, according to the Associated Press.
"That's what we do, we cry when we're happy," Armstrong said to her son.
With her latest win, Armstrong became the first American woman to win three gold medals in the same individual event at the Summer Olympics.
