Rimutaka road closes for repairs

The Rimutaka Hill Road, pictured in 2012 during extensive reworking, will be temporarily closed for maintenance this week.

The Rimutaka Hill Road will be temporarily closed for maintenance work from 8pm tomorrow.

However, the road will open every 20 to 30 minutes to allow traffic through.

It is expected to reopen by 5.30am, Thursday.

The NZTA is urging drivers to put off any non-necessary travel during this time.
