Aucklanders finally have their own slice of Wellington retail institution Good as Gold, aka GAG, with a new Ponsonby store just open. Owner Ruben Bryant (pictured in the store above) brings his eclectic mix of local and international streetwear and fashion brands including Kowtow, Nike, New Balance,Nobody Denim and Alpha 60, and accessories such as Colab eyewear and Prospector Co. grooming products. He says he is excited to join the Ponsonby retail community. "I've always wanted to open a store in Auckland, and the timing was right when I got offered this wonderful space. The energy in Auckland right now is really good."
The brand celebrates 10 years in business this month, and will be marking the anniversary throughout the year, with parties in both cities (everyone is invited), and a specialty tote bag and clothing line planned.
Celebrity maternity wear favourite Koko Mama - fans include Jools Oliver and Sienna Miller - is now stocked at Egg, with designer Tamara Hema recently returning to New Zealand from London.
