Remand in stabbing case

A 38-year-old woman appeared in the Kaikohe District Court yesterday on a charge of murder following the death during the weekend of her partner Anthony Barry Garvey, 27.

Rangi Marie Reti was remanded in custody without plea until October 10. Emergency services found Mr Garvey stabbed to death in a Kawakawa house late on Saturday.

No one else is being sought but Kaikohe police still want to talk to possible witnesses who had been attending parties and gatherings in the area.
