Rape arrest

An Auckland digger driver has been arrested for the abduction and rape of a woman last year and police say that he could face further serious charges.

Police say that the charges follow the rape of a woman in suburban Grafton on February 6 last year.

The 30-year-old, who also faces charges of theft and possession of a knife, was arrested yesterday after police searched his home as part of their investigations into a series of alleged rapes between February last year and July this year.
