I thought people spitting on the sidewalk was unheard of now. I thought we all grew up together. It's not a good look to walk down Queen St and see people not only blowing smoke into pedestrians' faces but also spitting where they stand! Gross!

My grateful thanks to the friendly, polite gentleman, one of the construction crew at the Holy Trinity Cathedral, Parnell, who kindly reversed my car for me and parked it outside the construction area when, in my eagerness to find a clear parking space, I blithely drove through the open gate to deliver documents to the Diocesan Archives. After my delivery I was delighted, and so grateful, to find my now correctly parked car facing the right way for me to safely exit the Cathedral precinct. I did notice as I carefully drove away the gates to the construction site were closed, quite rightly prohibiting any other foolish driver from entering. A lesson learned!

Every year it's the same. The post office has never got enough Christmas stamps. For goodness sake it's not that difficult for whoever is in charge to think "Ooh, Christmas, I expect the public would like to put seasonal stamps on their cards, so I know I will make sure that they don't get any!" So all my cards have had to be posted without them. Not a big thing in the scheme of what is happening in the world, but what's the point of printing them at all.

A rave for NZ Post. A Christmas package from the UK was rather flimsily wrapped and had come apart. NZ Post had neatly put it in a plastic bag with explanatory label and delivered it by courier. Thank you NZ Post.

I think we should pass a law that bans walking across the road while looking down at your mobile device. Today a lady walked across the road while holding hands with a little boy, he must've been 5 or 6. Instead of paying attention while crossing the road with a young child she continued to look down at her phone while I was heading towards them. I slowed right down to 30. This is worrying.

To Nick (technician) at Greenlane Hospital Radiology. A big thank you for making my recent MRI experience not so terrifying. You were patient and kind and are truly an asset to your service.
