Rants & Raves: Take back cars if you have one

To the car salesmen who use up all of the parking on Hill Rd, Manurewa, outside the Botanical Gardens: take the cars back to your house or car yards, if you have one! I counted seven cars in a row, parked there day and night. On a busy day the gardens are full, so we have to park a lot farther away.

Thank you to three people who came to my aid when I slipped on wet grass on Tennyson Ave, Takapuna: the lovely lady who stopped her car to ask if I was okay and the two caring men who help me and escorted me home. Truly, you are all angels in disguise. God bless you!

In response to Wayne's rant about Auckland Council advising it would be up to three days before they would reply to his email: when will people realise emails are not an urgent form of communication? If you require a quick response, use the phone or visit in person.

I dropped my wallet near the Mission Bay fountain and didn't realise until I got in my car. Luckily I went to the community police station on a whim, hoping someone had brought it in ... Thank you to the kind soul who handed it in! That wallet had my whole life in there - it really is annoying cancelling and replacing all your debit cards and licences. I hope good karma comes your way soon!

To the makers of plant and insect sprays: news flash, we don't wear reading glasses in the garden. Print is so small on the important bits it can't be read. Important enough that it might kill the garden or put someone in hospital.

This needs to be said. Thank you to all transport drivers who actually arrive on time to their destination. Bus drivers who wait until their elderly passengers are seated and offer assistance to mums with prams. Also to other passengers who help in assisting, just shows how a little bit of courtesy makes our journey more enjoyable and moving!
