Rant That pleasure of a coffee with a cheese scone (or blueberry muffin, if more than two blueberries!) in a cafe mid-morning. In too many cafes the scone comes immediately then several minutes later the coffee arrives, the scone/muffin having already been consumed - this is a joint, not sequential activity! IanMcK
Rave I guess we have Auckland Transport to thank for the interesting pavement signage around Britomart station and square. I found this most informative and much clearer than the maps. Fascinating to be sitting upstairs in the Downtown foodcourt, and looking down on the sign by the fire and water fountain that tells us that the new rail link will run 10m below that exact spot. Rant To the moron who was ranting about people squeezing past them when they were reversing into a parking place in a busy car park. It takes three to four times as long to reverse into the parking place so you're holding people up. Why can't you just drive forward into it? Jay Emm
Rave On the way to Silverdale on Saturday morning before Christmas my car started to make an unusual noise. I was able to get to Dairy Flat Motors and I asked the gentleman if he could find the problem. After taking it for a run with my mother-in-law next to him, he put it up on the hoist and found the problem and fixed it. The best part of this was that he would not accept my offer to pay. So a big thank you to him for his kindness. Lu'Anne
Rant People who use the T2 lane and have only one person in the car: You are breaking the law and also holding up the way for people who actually have two or more people in their vehicle. Maureen P
Rave My wife rang me to bring her spare car key to Milford Mall because she had lost hers shopping. She retraced her steps but no luck. Christine at the Warehouse had them handed in and had the presence of mind to ring Hyundai. They had my mobile number in their system and rang me. Result, key picked up again in less than an hour. Brilliant. Peter D
