As I walk the streets of Papatoetoe I notice more people dumping their rubbish on the road frontages. Why is it people think someone else will remove their rubbish when they could easily take it to the transfer station?

I was checking out of a hotel inNew Plymouth on Saturday morning and had moved my car to a metered car park close to the entrance of the hotel while we loaded our luggage. When I returned there was a parking officer writing a ticket. The officer asked if I had a Super Gold Card. On confirming that fact, the officer told me I was entitled to free parking. The ticket was cancelled. Well done, New Plymouth council and the polite officer.
Running Round the Bays, I passed a number of walkers who had started early. One group were walking four abreast with one lady berating runners as they struggled to get round. What do you expect when you start early?
Splendid concert by the NZ Navy Band at the Bruce Mason Centre. Lovely, fun and great music.

First, to the inconsiderate drivers who, when heading down Gillies Ave to enter the motorway to the city, use the Newmarket-only lane and then force their way over. Second, to those who are in the correct lane and then let the right-hand lane people in ... don't!
