After putting up with roadworks for several weeks I thought there would be substantial improvements in traffic flow from Parnell Rd to Broadway Newmarket. Alas, no bus lane, no bike lane, no parking clearway during peak times, in fact the space for two possible lanes has been reduced to one and traffic is often worse with turning traffic and buses trying to pull in and out around parked cars.

My American-born nephew spent the last fortnight with us and I would like to thank airport security and the NZ Police. He didn't want to be separated from his toys and they x-rayed them separately, even following his request to not touch them. And when he wanted to play fight the international Customs agents, they "fought" back. We met a police officer at Botany who posed for photos and then suggested they have a play fight for photos. This is what makes NZ "cool" in the eyes of my nephew. Thank you.

I was amazed yesterday when unbeknown to me, a family pulled into our small produce stand in Drury Hills Rd and thanks to the slim hands of their son/daughter proceeded to relieve us of over $20 in fruit and produce earnings for the day. To have the parents condone such an action surely means that their offspring is on the road to a small cell at Wiri at some point in time.

Thank you so much to the kind, honest lady in Takapuna who found my ballet tickets on the street, Googled my name, found my work address and dropped them off to my boss after-hours on Monday night in the stormy weather. I'm sorry I don't have your name to thank you personally - you've made my day.
