Rant I found Sue's jab at students giving up their seats (or rather, failing to) on public transport in yesterday's paper exceptionally frustratingand ignorant. Our so-called "little worlds" are jam-packed with coursework, social lives, extracurricular activities, part-time jobs, and often volunteering too - forgive us if we don't have time to watch the every move of each elderly or disabled person within our immediate vicinity 24/7! It's people like you who raised us students - don't forget that we're a reflection of your generation. Ashlee
Rave We would like to congratulate the Parks and Reserves division of the Auckland Council on the fantastic walkway they have developed from Lloyd Elsmore Park to Ti Rakau Rd. The native planting, birdlife and wide pathways made walking an absolute pleasure! Sheryn and Glennis
Rant I drive between Auckland and Hamilton almost every single week and I will often catch myself going slightly over 100km/h only to be overtaken by cars at lightning speed. Some permanent speed cameras need to be set up on this route before another serious crash happens. Natalie

Rant I am baffled by the complaints of schoolchildren not giving up their seats. Grown-ups - use your words! Politely ask them to stand for the elderly person, pregnant lady, etc. Problem solved, example set. Cara
Rave I am an elderly lady. About two weeks ago I was a damsel in distress on Morrinsville Rd. I realised I was lost. Crying while trying to wave cars down, a work van with two great young guys took me in and drove me all the way to Cambridge - and took me right to the exact address. Thanks, guys, hope your boss treats you to a day off! Susan
