I wish people who borrow books from the library wouldn't drop food and spill drink on the pages, it completely ruins the book. Also, the ones who turn the corners down, can't you use a book mark, or even a piece of paper? It makes the book look oldbefore its time.

Thumbs up to the PTUA's proposal for a new train service between Pukekohe and Huapai using some of the surplus diesel trains. Kumeu locals are sick of sitting in traffic and the train plan makes more sense than using buses which just get stuck in the traffic. Let's just hope AT take heed of common sense.
Shame on you, residents of one of the units on Sarawia St, Newmarket. Today you have broken all your previous records of noise. It is 2.30am and you are continuing to be loud. We are not rich, retired folks like you. We work long hours and only have our weekend for rest. You owe an apology to your neighbours and so does Auckland noise control for never turning up despite three calls since 12am.

On Wednesday, February 23, at about 8 in the evening, my car died unexpectedly at the intersection of Balmoral and Mt Eden Roads. I would like to say a huge thanks to the policeman who tried to jump-start my car, and the three gentlemen driving the Ford Ghia who pushed my car around the corner, out of danger. Mina

To the grumpy man who approached me at Becroft Drive, Forrest Hill, this morning, I understand your frustration at being stuck in the traffic, but please don't instruct me not to drop my kids at school. You have no idea that we have to run between jobs from 6am to 8pm every day and our kids wake up at 6.30am to do a paper run so that they can attend math and science lessons after school - then bussing to our shop, helping us a few more hours before we could go home together. We do all these things to ensure that our kids will not have to walk into a Winz office when they grow up.

My daughter can count to 10 in Maori; we are from the UK and have been living in this wonderful country for five years now. We are always in awe when our daughter Skypes her grandparents back home and tells them all the wonderful words in Maori that she learnt at school. It doesn't make sense that Kiwis are against learning the language of the indigenous people. Be proud. We are!
