Last evening a young woman was cycling along Quay St cycleway with no hands on the handlebars - they were both holding her mobile to her left ear. Unbelievable.

A massive rave and well done to everyone involved in the planning, creation and maintenance of the new Onehunga Bay Reserve. We love it and our dog is thrilled to bits as well. Happy dog and her humans.

To those that park on the yellow lines at and around Judges Bay Rd, Parnell and worse at the turning/disabled park area at Parnell Baths. That includes the male in blue swimming shorts, please learn the road code and abide by it. There's others who also use these facilities and like to be able to get in and around safely. The lady who had words with you had every reason to tell you off, and it wasn't me.

In the extreme heat last Wednesday evening and among vehicles crawling bumper to bumper, my classic car found it all too much and stopped in the middle lane in Grafton Rd. The patience of the Auckland motorists in making their way around the vehicle was exemplary, no horns, no rude gestures, no impatience. When the traffic had died down the vehicle started and all was well. Bravo Auckland motorists.

To the person who broke into my car last Wednesday in Mission Bay, what is the point of smashing my window only to have nothing taken? You have cost me an extreme inconvenience, all for your entertainment.

On Saturday night my girlfriend misjudged the bus times and was left stranded at a bus stop in the middle of Manurewa. I was working and at least 30 minutes away but a policeman saw her and took her home. I'm very grateful for his courtesy and concern.
