Rant To truck drivers: I thought a truck should always keep left on the motorway, but every morning when driving to work towards Onehunga, I see big trucks in the rightlane of the motorway, blocking all cars behind them. When you have a chance to move to your left, please do so. Riya S
Rave Thanks to the tremendous staff at Mobil Clendon who allowed me to leave my car in their forecourt when it broke down recently. They also offered me a chair while I waited for a taxi to get me to work. It was 11.30pm so was a bit scary breaking down at that hour of night. Annette
Rant This rant is against ME. I was waiting behind a car at an intersection in which I also had a clear view of the oncoming traffic. The lady driver did not move out even though there was tonnes of room to get out, so I flashed the lights at her. She finally moved out into the left lane, making a right hand turn. I was behind her, and her male passenger reached across and stroked her hair as if to console her, then it dawned on me she was a probably a learner driver. I felt such a B, so if it was you, I am so sorry. Dennis
Rave I was impressed yesterday when a young man came running along to help me put my groceries in the boot of my car while I was in the pouring rain. He's a credit to the staff at Pak'nSave Botany. Many thanks to him. Lorene
Rant We have had two packages arrive by courier in the past two weeks at our home. The first time, I saw the van drive away as I opened the door and there was a card to call at the door. I had to ring and re-arrange delivery, which took another day. The second time, a card was left by the garage door next to the gate leading to our front door! When I called the courier company to complain, I was told I would have to take it up with the courier driver. I would have if he'd stayed long enough to let us know he was there! Sandie
Rave On three occasions recently I've been with family who have been admitted to Middlemore Hospital. This involved long hours waiting for a bed in a ward. Many thanks to the wonderful volunteers who made sure I had sandwiches, tea and magazines. Also thanks to the Freemasons charity for the emergency toiletries. B K Graham
