A bin is a bin, writes Jane about the dog-poo moan.

Sarah (dog poo complaint), you need to get over yourself. You don't "own" the garbage bin. You're basically leasing it from council while occupying your particular property. Would you prefer that dog owners allow their dog to poo on the streets and leave it there? Also, why so precious about "your bin"? Do you put the contents on display to visitors? Do you invite your friends to have a look inside your bin? No! A bin is a bin and surely you can be neighbourly enough to allow a local passing by to drop off a tiny amount of dog poo to keep our streets clean.

Had to take an elderly friend with heart failure to his doctor's at LynnMall. There are four disability parks in the new carpark under the cinema complex close to LynnMall medical centre. Two of the parks were taken up by delivery trucks. Don't they have their own service parks? Shame on them.

Last Wednesday, I went online at 9.30am to order two gaskets for my fridge and freezer doors. At 1.30pm, a courier delivered them to our house in West Auckland. We were very impressed with the speed of the service - just four hours from order to delivery. Most refreshing when you hear so many sad tales about firms these days.

Early on Monday, we found someone had emptied all the eight or nine rubbish bins on to the footpath and road in the Torbay shops. On emailing Auckland Council with photos, we received a response that it would be up to three days before the email would be accessed and followed up. Not a very good service, we think.

Thank you, Herald, for bringing awareness to how some window washers behave. This is a serious issue, just like the "new wave" of beggars in Auckland CBD!
