Rangiuru Rd cordoned as armed police officers descend on Ōtaki Beach incident

Residents are being warned to stay away from an ongoing incident in Kāpiti Coast as police negotiators speak to the occupant of a property.

Negotiators are actively communicating with a person at a property near Te Whena St, Ōtaki Beach.

Cordons are in place on Rangiuru Rd while police respond. Some officers are armed as a precaution.

Police said there was no risk to the public and no injuries have been reported.

They advise people to avoid the cordoned area while this is ongoing.
