The most improved team for the Rams this season are their under-10s, who came up with another excellent effort to beat Marist Green in a high-scoring fixture, 50-25. Player of the day was halfback Tyreece Daniell who was everywhere, while Tua Toilolo also shone, scoring three tries.
The Rams Black under-9s bounced back to winning form with a 40-15 victory over Marist and Joshua Brown, who scored his first try of the season, was their player of the day.
Rams White under-9s put up a gallant display against unbeaten Martinborough before losing 50-30 and Lochie Daniel was player of the day for them.
The Rams under-8 teams had a mixed bag of results with the Grey team notching a win, the Black team a loss and the White team a draw and a loss.
The under-6 grade saw the Black and the White teams both having a win and a loss and one of their number, Malakai, being named player of the week.
Greytown and Featherston under-9s drew an enthusiastic group of supporters to their clash at Featherston last weekend and they produced an excellent match with Greytown coming out the victors. Greytown under-13s took on their Gladstone counterparts and won 41-8. Chris Hemi scored four tries for Greytown with others going to Sam Smith (2) and Rocco Berry.
There was a whale of a game between Greytown-Featherston and Carterton-Tuhirangi in the under-10 grade with many spectacular tries being scored in a match won by Greytown-Featherston 45-35.
Luke Rodger starred for Carterton-Tuhirangi with two fine tries.
The Gladstone and Carterton under-9s also had a thriller of a match with Carterton winning 35-30 thanks to a try scored in the last minute of play.
