In what had to be the game of the day the Rams under-10s came up against a well-performed Martinborough combination and in an entertaining fixture in which more than 100 points were scored it was Martinborough who eventually took the honours 65-40. The first half was even with the two teams going try for try but Martinborough finished stronger. This was, however, the Rams best effort of the season with Tua Toilolo shining in the forwards and Sam Mitchell likewise in the backs. Mitchell used his explosive speed to good effect in scoring two tries.
For the Rams under-9s and under-8s it was their own "state of origin" with mate v mate. In the under-9 grade the Whites managed a 25-10 victory over the Blacks in a game in which the Whites had the better of the forward battle and the Blacks looked more dangerous in the backs. Sam Trilford shone for the Blacks and Zinzan Hammond and Tyreece Molesi for the Whites.
The Rams Black under-8s team played two matches against clubmates, beating the Greys 5-0 before clashing with the Whites in a humdinger which could have gone either way. However, it was the Blacks who ran out 3-1 winners. Thomas Hutton was their player of the day, pulling off several try-saving tackles against the Whites. For the Greys Jaden Ronganui, who scored two tries when they lost 3-2 against Martinborough, was player of the day while starring for the Whites when they beat Marist 6-1 first up was dual try-scorer Antonio Chapman.
The Gladstone under-9s had a tussle with Greytown and it was Gladstone who ran out winners.
