The expected wind and rain failed to eventuate and conditions were excellent when the Ruamahanga Ramblers held a run over the aeroplane circuit at Gladstone on Saturday.
A strong field lined up over the 2km course with Samantha Duthie taking handicap honours while walker John Ihaka turned a few headswhen he did likewise in the 5km event.
It was newcomer Theresa Reynolds who was best on handicap over the 7.5km course with fastest time there being returned by Malcolm McDonald.
