Queen Charlotte track open again

The Queen Charlotte Track in the Marlborough Sounds is now completely open again.

A 1km section of the track between Kenepuru Saddle and Torea Saddle was temporarily closed from January 19 so the private land owner could carry out wild animal control.

This meant walkers could not complete the whole 71km track, but were forced to make shorter trips either side of the closed section. Around 20 per cent of the track crosses private land.
