A 4.1 magnitude earthquake struck near Masterton this morning, GNS Science reported.
It said the 7.02am jolt was centred 10km from the Wairarapa town, at a depth of 25km and would have been felt in the lower North Island.
At 4.14am a 3.5 magnitude earthquake hit 20km south-east of Hastings
