Nine quad bikes have been destroyed in a suspicious blaze at an Otago bike shop overnight.
Fire Service southern shift manager Brent Dunn said flames were seen coming out of Dwain's Service Centre on Tapanui's main street around 9.55pm.
Nine bikes were engulfed in flames in the bike shop but
around a dozen vehicles were saved by firefighters.
Dunn said at one point the fire threatened to spread to a nearby building but quickly brought under control.
A police scene guard was put in place overnight.
