Pukehou principal quits

The principal of a Hawkes Bay school at the centre of a damning Education Review Office report in March has resigned.

The report on Te Aute College in Pukehou, south of Hastings, found Lennie Johns was not a registered teacher when the board employed him. The report also found that adequate procedures were not in place to assess Mr Johns' performance.

The teachers registration board later gave him limited registration.
