Eketahuna camping ground had a busy month in March with visitors hiring 108 power sites, 74 unpowered camp sites and 34 cabins.
Managers Loreen and Kerry Cunningham have reported to Eketahuna Community Board that business was "solid" throughout the month.
They acknowledged the value of Pukaha Mt Bruce to thecampground's business.
Since Pukaha has been upgraded many more visitors are booking in at the camping ground and further widespread promotion of Pukaha as a tourist attraction has also helped.
The managers said overseas visitors in particular like to stay nearby when they are planning a visit to the National Wildlife centre.
Plans for further improvements at Pukaha will help the business even more.
Also during March, the Eketahuna Youth Group had a barbecue and stayover at the camping ground, with the managers saying the visit went well and everyone enjoyed the event.
Helping to keep business ticking over at the camping ground is its location, being a halfway stop between Napier and Wellington.
