A renowned mathematician will be visiting the University of Auckland on Tuesday 18 August to give a public lecture on climate change.
Professor Chris Budd OBE, Seelye Fellow, is a professor of applied mathematics at the University of Bath in the United Kingdom.
But what has maths got to do
with climate change? Budd will take the audience on a fascinating journey, looking light heartedly at predictions of climate change, and how maths and statistics enable us to understand what has happened in the past and what will happen in the future.
Budd is a great speaker, and received an OBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours this year for his outstanding contributions to science and mathematics. In 2001, he founded Bath Taps into Science, an annual event aimed to promote scientific literacy.
