This arduous training regime helped Daniell get through three marathon days of tennis at Ilkley where he was involved in singles and doubles play from quarter-finals through to finals with most matches going the full distance.
"On finals day I only had 30 minutes between finishing the singles and having to start the doubles. Just enough time for a presentation ceremony, a cold shower, a protein shake and then the socks and shoes are back on and I'm back out there."
Daniell said there was no way he could have handled such a heavy workload had he not trained so hard.
"In a way I got used to dealing with the fatigue and working through it," he said.
Doubles wins on the Futures circuit are nothing new for Daniell but Ilkley represented his first singles crown and he admits to being "very excited and somewhat relieved" to have got that monkey off his back.
Daniell said his victories would mean no change as to how he approaches each tournament.
"It's important that nothing changes. The reason I did well in this tourney was because I was fighting my heart out for every point, trying to block the situation and the future from the mind. If I keep doing that, focusing only on the next point, the future will work itself out."
