About 100 homes in Auckland are without electricity tonight after a vehicle crashed into a power pole in Westmere.
Electricity is not expected to be restored until tomorrow when a new pole be installed.
The crash happened on West End Rd near Fife St about 7pm.
Police said no one
was injured but cordons were put up and traffic diverted to neighbouring streets as emergency services arrived.
A Vector spokesman told the Herald tonight that initially after the crash, about 988 households were without power.
