Possible sighting of missing girl, 15

Police are investigating a possible sighting last night of a 15-year-old Porirua girl missing for more than a month.

Jessica Ross was last seen in Titahi Bay on July 5 when picked up in a vehicle by an associate, and police were increasingly concerned for her safety, Constable Paul Randall of Porirua police said yesterday.

There had been a couple of sightings of her in and around Porirua but nothing for the past two weeks.

However, a person called police after a possible sighting of Jessica in Titahi Bay last night, Wellington police communications manager Victoria Evans said today.

Police were working to confirm whether it was Jessica.

She was described as European, with shoulder-length hair, of slight build. She was last seen wearing dark blue jeans and a pink T-shirt.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts should contact Porirua police.
