New Plymouth police have confirmed the body found at Port Taranaki last night is Peter Stephen Jones.
Mr Jones, 45, had been missing since Sunday following a domestic incident in which he allegedly assaulted his partner.
He left the house before police arrived and was later seen at Paritutu Beach,
