In a family notice published today, Worth was described as a beloved father and father-in-law and adored grandfather.
A memorial service will be held at Parnell's St Mary's-in-Holy Trinity on Monday.
National Party president Peter Goodfellow said the party acknowledged "with deep sympathy" the passing of the former MP.
"Richard served our party and New Zealand well during his time as a National MP from 1999-2009, particularly in the Key Government as the Minister for Internal Affairs, Land Information, Minister Responsible for the National Library, Archives New Zealand, and Associate Minister of Justice," Goodfellow said.
He said the party's sincere condolences went to Worth's family and friends.
