Policeman helps delivery baby on Auckland roadside

A policeman turned midwife when he came across a woman going into labour while driving along an Auckland road late last night.
The Counties Manukau officer was driving along Botany Rd just after 11pm when he came across the scene.
A police spokeswoman said the officer and the woman's husband
helped to deliver the baby.
Emergency services were called at 11.11pm.
A northern police communications spokesman told the Herald a healthy boy had been delivered and mother and child were well.
