Police uncover meth lab in Christchurch

Specialists are being called in from Auckland after a police bust in Christchurch uncovered a suspected p-lab this morning.

Detective Senior Sergeant Brian Archer said the Christchurch drug squad and armed offenders squad executed a search warrant at the Spreydon property at 12.30pm today.

P olice located equipment and chemicals used to make methamphetamine at the property and closed down the scene until Environmental Science and Research clandestine laboratory staff arrive from Auckland.

Mr Archer said a detailed scene examination would occur this afternoon.

Police are yet to charge anyone in relation to the search.
