Police have uncovered a large amount of "stolen property" at a west Auckland address.

Witnesses had notified the Herald of a "large police presence" on Fred Taylor Road, Whenuapai.

A police spokeswoman said for "operational reasons" police were unable to comment any further.

However, she did confirm police had been at an address in the west Auckland suburb since yesterday morning "executing a search warrant".
