Police swarm Auckland’s Karangahape Rd, take person into custody

Police have swarmed Auckland’s K Rd tonight and taken a person into custody.

A witness on K Rd told the Herald he had heard from two bystanders that a driver had rammed into a police car before being forced against the kerb.

Police told the Herald it appeared a vehicle had failed to stop when signalled.

“One person has been taken into custody near the intersection of K Rd and Pitt St,” a spokesperson said.

Police have been contacted for more details.
