Police still waiting on Timaru woman's autopsy results

Police are still waiting on autopsy results to determine if a 28-year-old woman found dead in Timaru yesterday died in suspicious circumstances.

A member of the public found the body of the woman on a driveway off Quarry Rd and St John Ambulance alerted police about 9am. The body was taken to Christchurch for the autopsy.

Police said the death would be treated as suspicious until the results of the autopsy were known, possibly tomorrow.

Police were interviewing people who lived in the area and wanted to hear from any witnesses.

The woman's next-of-kin had been advised but police have not yet released her name.
